British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Tragic Car Crash
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities announced on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident outside Lagos on December 29th, a tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of two of his valued colleagues.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The boxer had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.
“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.
Honoring the Deceased
The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the passing of his two trusted companions.”
