Chiefs Confirm Alleged Abuse Claims Involving Player Rashee Rice
The NFL franchise released a comment on Wednesday evening confirming they are aware of claims of abuse circulated in online accounts by a former girlfriend of wide receiver Rashee Rice and were in communication with the NFL.
The team did not mention the player by name in their statement and stated they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Player's Prior Off-Field Troubles
The receiver missed the initial part of this season due to an NFL suspension for his role in causing a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that left several individuals injured. He was sentenced 30 days in jail and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
Statistically, Rice concluded the year with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs finished 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first time in a ten-year span.
