Football Analyst Chris Sutton Takes On Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

The Gunners' 10-game victorious streak came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the international break, but can the Premier League leaders recover against north London rivals Spurs this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, against AI, fans and a range of guests.

For week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

The singer's latest album, the new release, is out on the weekend.

Football and Parenting Experiences

Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a star of several Soccer Aid matches over time - but he is not intending a serious comeback as a player.

"{I actually played in a charity match the other night for a mate of mine," he explained. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my child or son decides to play instead."

Murs and his spouse his partner have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.

"I won't push football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their Saturday football side," he said.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly was involved with a soccer team for a while too.

"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our team for two or three years and had great fun with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their offense is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this fixture will be quite tight, though. Burnley are well organised and their only home losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

It suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am actually going to choose Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

The singer's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, the Hammers won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

The Hammers' only away victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their boss Nuno was still Forest coach.

Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - will it be the Hammers extending their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?

I am going to go with Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a blip.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign started, but they have surprised a few observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four matches.

My son told me to select Brentford forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

Thiago will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had much fortune on the travel this season, and Brighton are consistently strong at their stadium. Brentford will try to hit them on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a threat.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a many goals but it in reality turns out to be rather close. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six games.

They have have lots of quality in their team but it still feels like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.

As for Sunderland, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.

The away side's display in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We've not seen anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this term, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the end of October.

However I am not choose that. Instead, I really need to continue going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their good results because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Looking at the home side's home record, the sole side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's side will be absolutely desperate for a good result, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

Olly's choice: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a poor run... but Fulham have still been decent at home this campaign. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard one to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but could they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
