Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed operations across the region in retaliation for a "massive" and continuing assault targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity near the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any damage is not yet known and the American officials has not commented.

Missile Defenses Activated

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - which all house US military bases - reported they have shot down incoming projectiles in their air space.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry said it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on Iran launched by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That preceding assault - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck sites linked to the the regime, with President Trump urging the people of Iran to rise up against the leadership.

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military said it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE announced that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems dealt with the missiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," the statement continued.

It said missile fragments landed in a neighborhood in the capital, causing some material damage and fatalities.

The US Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
