President Trump Calls Families of Shot National Guard Personnel to the Presidential Residence

Former President Donald Trump revealed on Sunday that he has invited the family of a National Guard member tragically killed last week to come to the presidential home.

He added that he contacted her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

Details on the Tragic Incident

Soldier Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was lost her life in a attack on last Wednesday in DC.

Her colleague, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in grave state.

Memorials across the state have taken place in their remembrance.

Presidential Offer

The commander-in-chief stated he’s discussed a visit to the White House for the parents of both soldiers of the West Virginia Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a difficult moment, visit the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to her,” the president informed reporters. “And similarly with him, whether he recovers or not.”

Community Reaction

Mourners came together over the past few days at Webster County high school in the state to honor Beckstrom.

Both they had been working with the West Virginia National Guard as part of the president’s national effort to aid public safety in the capital.

Paying Tribute to Beckstrom

“She was the type of pupil that teachers wished for. She conducted herself with calm resilience, a bright grin and a optimistic attitude that lifted those around her,” the principal, the principal of her previous school, informed the Associated Press. “She was caring, compassionate and always ready to assist people.”

Service arrangements for Beckstrom are yet to be finalized.

Legal Actions and Policy Changes

Officials have indicted a 29-year-old Afghan national with a charge of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder while carrying a weapon.

The incident led the Trump administration to suspend refugee claims and temporarily stop granting visas to owners of travel documents.

Status of Wolfe

The airman, a native of the city, enlisted in February 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman High, per the news agency.

He is still undergoing care and is “in a critical fight”, West Virginia governor Patrick Morrisey mentioned on television.

Attorney general the attorney general stated on the program that she planned to meet with the family.

Legacy of the Fallen Soldier

Beckstrom, from her hometown, graduated from Webster County High in mid-2023 and began her service not long after, working as a law enforcement officer with distinction, according to the military.

“She had a lot of kindness and she definitely had fortitude,” Morrisey addressed the audience at the vigil. “Though her time was cut short, she has created a legacy that’s going to be remembered always.”
