Suspected Stalker Asked: 'However Suppose I Am Madeleine?'
A individual indicted with pursuing Kate McCann allegedly left her a recorded message which posed: "suppose I am Madeleine?"
The defendant, twenty-four, who a jury heard has consistently claimed she was the disappeared Madeleine McCann, and her co-defendant are facing charges indicted with pursuing Kate and Gerry McCann from June 2022 and February this year.
On Monday, the tribunal heard communication data and data retrieved from phones recorded Ms Wandelt persistently demanding Madeleine's mother for a genetic test during 2023 and 2024.
Madeleine's disappearance in 2007 - as a three-year-old during a family holiday in Portugal - is considered the most publicized missing child cases and is still unsolved.
'I Do Not Need Money'
One recorded message, played in court, documented Ms Wandelt declaring: "I understand I'm overweight and unattractive like Madeleine had been, but I know what I believe."
While another instance of Ms Wandelt's monologues with Mrs McCann's voicemail said: "Imagine there is a slight possibility that I am she? What happens next? Wouldn't that be crucial for you?"
"I am not seeking money, I possess a life here in Poland, I just want to understand," the message continued.
The panel was informed that by means of emails, SMS messages and phone calls, Ms Wandelt requested a genetic test, transmitted early photographs to her phone in a effort to show a likeness to Mrs McCann's missing daughter, and stated to have "recollections" from a early life with the McCanns.
The investigator, an investigator with the police force who gathered the evidence, advised the court there "didn't appear to be any answers" from Mrs McCann.
Ms Wandelt furthermore contacted close associates of the McCanns, as per the communication logs.
On October 9th, 2024, Mr McCann responded to a phone call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, declaring she had "incorrect contact information."
During that incident Ms Wandelt left a message on Mrs McCann's voicemail stating "I will continue and I intend to demonstrate my point."
The court was informed Mrs Spragg struck up a relationship online with Ms Wandelt preceding accompanying her on a trip to the McCanns' property in Leicestershire in last December.
Call logs showed Mrs Spragg had contacted via messaging service to Mrs McCann to say the news outlets had characterized Ms Wandelt as "mentally unstable" but that she deserved to be taken seriously in the time preceding the trip to Rothley, that area, in last December.
The court was told correspondence between the two accused, in last November, considering endeavoring to get Mrs McCann's DNA samples from her bins or from silverware at a eating establishment.
"We have to take action," the co-defendant advised Ms Wandelt.
On the night of the visit to their residence, Mrs Spragg transmitted a text which stated: "We are positioned adjacent to the McCanns' home with our lights out like investigators. I desired to achieve this with Peter Andrew I hadn't anticipated I would be engaged in this with the McCanns."
The trial ongoing.
