The Red Devils Poised to Sign German Forward Lea Schüller away from the Bavarian Giants
The Women's Super League club are finalising sealing the deal for prolific Germany striker Lea Schüller on a permanent transfer away from the Frauen-Bundesliga champions.
A Major Signing for United
The forward, with half a year remaining on her contract, is known as a prolific goal-getter for both club and country. Having netted over 100 goals for the German giants and found the net 54 times in 82 caps for her country. This signing will be seen as a major signing for the Women’s Super League side.
Her exit from Munich was expected after she appeared to be holding back emotions while applauding the club's fans following a win over Bayer Leverkusen recently.
It was reported in December that the German women's top flight was losing one of its leading strikers. Per reports, all the paperwork for the transfer are now finalised.
Consistent Goalscoring to Strengthen the Attack
The 28-year-old’s signing should represent a significant boost to United’s forward line. She has been highly consistent in front of goal in the Bundesliga.
- Over seven consecutive seasons, including the last term, she achieved at least a double-digit tally of league goals.
- She won the Golden Boot in the 2021-22 season with 16 goals.
Gathering Steam at Old Trafford
The acquisition of Schüller’s signature comes at a time when the club appear to be gathering positive momentum.
Their recent performances feature securing a place in the European knockout phase playoffs as a seeded team and a win in the Conti Cup quarter-finals.

- The signing of Swedish right-back Hanna Lundkvist on a three-and-a-half-year deal.
- The new deal for Japan playmaker Hinata Miyazawa, who has become fan favourite since arriving in 2023.
