The incident caused the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the multi-storey parking facility.

Formal charges have been brought against two men related to a suitcase robbery where a suspected irritant spray resulted in harm at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two robbery charges and charges for administering a noxious substance, according to official statements.

The charges follow an probe of an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Earlier that day, two female travelers had their luggage stolen after exiting a car park lift, according to law enforcement.

A toddler was caught up in the incident during the incident. Five people required hospital care and were eventually allowed to go home.

This event – which authorities stated was isolated and not considered a terror-related act – led to disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a limited duration.
